Hey cybiesđ,
I know, I know⌠itâs been two weeks. Iâm so sorry for ghosting you all (not in the cyber way, though). Life happened, and I promise to spill the gist soon. But for now, letâs get into todayâs topic, because I know youâve seen those Hollywood hacking scenes and thought, "Is this for real?"
Today, weâre going into some famous cyber moments in movies and TV shows from and asking the big question: âAre they real or just ridiculous?â
1ď¸âŁ Fast & Furious 9 â The "Project Aries" Hack
Scene: The bad guys hack into a global weapon system using some âfancyâ futuristic tech.
Realism Rating: 2/10
The movie makes hacking look like an intense gaming session, with someone typing at lightning speed and bypassing âeveryâ security protocol in seconds. Sorry, but real-world hacking requires patience, vulnerabilities, and most importantly, actual logic
Entertainment Rating: 8/10
Fast cars, explosions, and âHollywood hacking magicâ? Itâs ridiculous but fun to watch
Verdict: Cybersecurity experts would roll their eyes, but hey, itâs âFast & Furiousâ, not âMr. Robotâ
2ď¸âŁ Mission: Impossible â Dead Reckoning Part One â AI Supervillain
Scene: Ethan Hunt fights against "The Entity," an AI that hacks into global intelligence networks.
Realism Rating: 6/10
While AI-driven cyber threats are a thing, an all-knowing, âself-awareâ AI that manipulates everything instantly? Thatâs still sci-fi. However, deepfake technology and AI-powered cyberattacks are very real.
Entertainment Rating: 9/10
Tom Cruise running, insane action sequences, and cyber espionage? A certified thriller
Verdict: While AI threats exist, The Entity is still in the âsci-fi horrorâ phase. (For nowâŚ)
3ď¸âŁ Black Mirror: Joan is Awful â Terms & Conditions Nightmare
Scene: A woman discovers her entire life is being turned into a TV show because she unknowingly agreed to it in the fine print.
Realism Rating: 9/10
Ever actually âreadâ the Terms & Conditions before clicking "I Agree"? This episode highlights how much power companies can have over our data. While weâre not quite at the "turn your life into a Netflix show" level, big tech companies already collect way more data than you realize.
Entertainment Rating: 8/10
Itâs creepy but thought-provoking. If youâve ever wondered what signing away your digital privacy really means, this episode is a wake-up call
Verdict: Way too real. Protect your data, cybies

âScorpionâ hack scenes which is pretty much the entire series. I can't say I doubt the possibility of such speed of hacking tho, but I will say that such rate of reasoning is rare but not impossible and computers can keep up anyways.
